This is what $0.04 looks like!!!

Here are some of the tips and tricks that I use to get great savings using local deals and coupons. Look through the coupons in the Sunday paper (Red Plum circular, Smart Source circular, & P&G circular) make sure after you clip the ones you want that you save whats left until they expire. In some of the links below you will see in a previous circular with a recent sale you can get FREE items or great savings! Since we don't have double coupons in Florida you have to remember that if something is BOGO (buy one get one) you can use 2 coupons for the items. If an item is $1.99 BOGO and you use 2 $1.00 off coupons you get the 2 items for FREE! Another good one is when Publix & Winn Dixie have their 10 for $10, try to find $1.00 off coupons for those items and you get them for FREE! You can use 2 coupons for one item when you match a store coupon along with a manufacturers coupon. You can do this a lot with Target coupons that you can only use only at Target along with a manufacturers coupon for the same item. Publix and Target are the 2 biggest ones for this.

If you are on Facebook, there are amazing freebies if you 'like' a companies page and fill out a special tab, then after I sign up I unlike the page so I don't get all of the notices on my wall about that company all the time. You can also go to the brand websites(3M, Cottonelle, etc.) and they usually have a coupons tab on their websites to print coupons for their products.

Walgreens has awesome photo freebies and deals every other month or so. I usually get a heads up from Smart Couponing. (link above) They will have a deal for a free photo collage or 8x10 photo, etc. and you order it online (you have to create an online account/takes 3-5 minutes), after you order whatever the deal is and use the given code you just opt to 'Pick Up In Store' and it is free since there is no shipping. You can have one Walgreens account for every email address that you have. I have 5 email addresses so I have 5 Walgreens accounts, to maximize savings/specials/freebies.

CVS has some deals if you have a red CVS card. Just stop in to their store once or twice a week and scan your card on their instore coupon machine and it prints you out CVS only coupons(which you can use along with manufacturers coupons) on items in the store. Sometimes it will even print you a coupon for a FREE item in the store. Make sure you scan it multiple times until it tells you that there are no more coupons in the machine and the check back tomorrow. Some weeks the machine will give me 2 coupons and some weeks it will give me 4-5 coupons. I just keep scanning it until it stops.

Remember that Walmart always price matches if you have a circular or website price over your phone from somewhere else showing their current pricing. I save a lot using price matching and coupons together. :)

Ragnar Relays ~ Florida Keys A 199 mile running event that will push you and 11 pals as far south as you can go in the continental U.S. Starting in Miami and finishing in Key West this relay offers runners a unique opportunity to run, near the ocean side, and across the southern end of the state of Florida. Along the way you will run across multiple bridges including the Seven Mile Bridge hopping from Key to Key, passing through popular destinations such as Key Largo, Islamorada, Marathon Key and Big Pine Key. The race (and your stamina) will wrap up in the tropics of the southern most city in the continental U.S.A., Key West. Clear your calendars for this one, this is a running race you don’t want to miss!

What is Ragnar? You and 11 of your closest friends running 200(ish) miles, day and night, relay-style, through some of the most scenic terrain North America could muster. Add in crazy runners, inside jokes and a mild case of sleep deprivation. The result? Some call it a slumber party without sleep, pillows or deodorant. We call it a Ragnar Relay. It's really quite simple. Get a bunch of friends together (or we can help you find team members who'll quickly become your friends) and start running. Okay, there's a little more to it. Your relay team will consist of 12 members (or 6 for Ultra teams). During the relay, each team member runs three legs, each leg ranging between 3 - 8 miles and varying in difficulty. So, from the elite runner down to the novice jogger, it's the perfect relay race for anyone.

How do you cover 200(ish) miles? Only one runner hits the road at a time. The rest of your teammates are on support duty in your race vehicles. Teams require 2 vehicles, with runners 1-6 in van 1 and 7 -12 in van 2. Van 1's runners will cover the first six legs. It's a relay, so as the each runner begins, the crew in the vehicle can drive ahead, cheer their runner on, and meet them at the exchange point to pick them up and drop off the next runner. After the first 6 legs, van 2 picks up the slack and starts putting in the miles. A day, night and day later, you'll have made it all the way from start to finish!

Any Easy 200(ish)

Running three legs during a 24-hour relay race is much easier than you think. Each team member runs three legs, ranging between 3 and 8 miles. This relay race is physically demanding, but legs vary in difficulty, and runners can choose their legs. This unique relay format makes the Ragnar Relay an accessible race for beginners yet challenging enough for the most competitive runners.

First leg through Miami ~ 4.7 miles

Second leg through the Keys ~ 4.3 miles

Third leg into Key West ~ 3 miles

I am at week 4 of my Ragnar training. I think it is funny that I am using a program for the next few weeks called "Couch to 5K" for my pre-training until the official Ragnar training begins at the end of August. Here are some pictures from todays run:

Sorry I have been MIA for awhile, lots going on. A few of my scrapbooking sites closed down and I picked up couponing. I have always used coupons, but recently have been learning how to get lots of goodies for FREE!!!! Here are some of my endeavors in the past 2 months. **Suzan**

14 men's full size Dove deodorant and they PAID ME $0.23 to take it out of the store!!! Yes, walmart actually gave me cash!!!

My latest Stockpile ... FREE only $2.73 in tax!!!

I love coupons ... I just spent $4.63 for all of this!!!

$23.00 for this load! The guy cringed when he saw me coming with all my price matches and all my coupons! :)

Max is checking out the 24 chocolate covered peeps that I just got for FREE!!! I only paid $0.39 tax :) I ended up getting 30 more for FREE after this picture was taken!!!

I am turning into the coupon lady... 30 boxes of pasta for $5!!! I ended up getting 70 more boxes the next week for the same deal!!!!

Easter Sunday

I had a great Easter sunday! I woke up early and went to climb the lighthouse before lunch and found it was very busy. I wouldn't think too many people would have been at the lighthouse on Easter at 10:30am, but I was wrong, there were about 30+ people milling around and climbing along with me. When I got home, Madison and I played in the front yard until dad came to pick me up. I then headed to lunch at Mimi's cafe in Altamonte Springs with my dad and we met up with Joe. Dad picked me up in his SSR and we drove in the sunny 80 degree summer weather. Lunch was YUMMY and we all filled our tummy's! Joe is the best, he got me a box of Cadbury Cream Eggs for Easter and a Monopoly scratch off ticket! Oh yeah!!!!!!! His mom also donated to my Fight for Air Asthma Walk team. Thanks mom!!!! Wow, it is only 2:30 and I feel like I have been out and about all day long! This morning I woke up and went to weigh in...I am now down 40lbs!!!!!!!! I then headed down to Zumba in downtown Daytona Beach for an ass whooping from Quanita! LOVED IT!!!! I figured since I was out and it was only 11:15 I would head out down to the lighthouse. I haven't been down there for a few months. Today is a beautiful, sunny, florida day and everyone is at the lighthouse today. I guess because it is spring break for some schools. I climbed the 200+ steps twice to get an extra workout in. I definately did the workout thing today! Wheeew! After all of this I was destin to head home, but nope I had to go grocery shopping. I went coupon crazy this week and clipped crazy coupons. I shopped at Winn Dixie, Publix, & Walmart this morning and ended up saving around $50 and only spending $45-$55 overall. I love bringing in coupons when I am buying a BOGO item and it brings it down to less tha a dollar; the sales lady just looks at me and smiles. Today was a good day, I filled my Karma tank for the week. There was a sweet older lady in our line at the store and she was paying by a check and she couldn't find her drivers lisence. Apparently at Winn Dixie if you don't have your card your can't make a purchase even if you are in your mid 80's and look as innocent as can be. She dug in her purse for 15 minutes trying to find it. I felt bad for her having to look for it and it was probably on her counter at home or at the bottom of her purse. (Ladies you know how easy it is to lose something small in your bag!) The manager pulled her out of the line to keep it moving so she could look for her ID and not hold up the line of 4 people. The next 2 of us checked out and I then went over to her and she still had not found it. I figured it is Easter and she probably is running last minute errands or getting ready for family, so I offered to pay for her groceries so she wouldn't have to keep looking. I know some older people feel like a burden or embarassed when something like this happens, so I figured I would help her out so she doesn't have to worry about it. She thanked me and INSISTED on writing me a check for the amount I charged for her. She was a sweetheart, she said she hadn't had something so kind happen to her in a long time. The clerk looked at me like I was crazy for paying for her groceries....My philosophy is: one day if I am ever in her situation I would hope that someone would do the same for me. I headed home after that and now I am ready for lunch! Have a HAPPY EASTER!!! **Suzan**
