This weekend I went down to the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse to get some exercise. Nothing like climbing the tallest lighthouse in Florida on a HOT 90+ degree saturday and sunday! Let's just say I got my butt kicked but did complete it both days! The lighthouse grounds also has a nature walk in the back which few people know about. As I was walking for my cool down on Saturday I ran across a Gopher Tortoise in the path. He was definitely more scared of me since he darted into the scrubs. Sunday I went back to see if he was on the trail again, sure enough her was, just eating the few blades of green grass that were on the path, this time he let me close to him and he even passed me eating while I was taking pictures and video of him. I can't wait until this Saturday and Sunday to go back and visit him again! Here are some of the pictures I took of him and some videos of him having lunch. Enjoy! **Suzan**
